Nestlé has agreed to acquire a majority holding in Wamiz, the leading French platform for digital media for pet owners, which is based in Paris.
Wamiz was established in 2009 by the two entrepreneurs Adrien Magdelaine and Adrien Ducousset. In the last few years it has become the digital reference platform for dog and cat lovers.
The advertising activities of Wamiz and all of its other operations will continue to be run independently of one another. The organisation of Wamiz remains unchanged. The two founders and their team of 16 staff will continue to run the business with the same entrepreneurial spirit that has made the platform successful. The terms of the deal have not been disclosed.
Nestlé has announced that the company has also acquired a majority holding in Tails.com.
Tails is a dog food business based in Great Britain that offers products directly tailored to the consumer. Given the rapid growth in personalised nutrition, the interest acquired by Nestlé Purina in this new digital business offers significant growth opportunities for both firms.
