Pets Deli has new owners. 51 per cent of the gourmet dog food shop, which had to file for bankruptcy last year, will be owned by the Berlin holding company Econa, according to the online portal "Deutsche Startups". Nikolaus Thomale and Fabian Löhmer of the Econa team will sit on the management board and each have a 24.5 per cent holding.
Pets Deli has faced a difficult period. Prior to arriving in the bankruptcy court, David Spanier had to leave the start-up after being convicted in 2011 of organised tax evasion.
The Econa Group also owns Sparwelt, foodspring and Ampere AG. The new owners are reported to be working currently on a relaunch of Pets Deli, according to "Deutsche Startups".
