The organisers of important pet trade shows in China have reacted to the outbreak of the coronavirus.
The organisers of the CIPS (12-15 November, Guanghzou) stated in a press release that, with CIPS being the biggest B2B platform in Asia, they were actively responding to the epidemic and had invited 49 experts to online training courses to provide clarification for pet supplies retailers. It is being stressed that there is no evidence of the new type of coronavirus being passed between humans and pets. Work was going on together with the pet product industry to advance the fight against the coronavirus.
A spokesperson for VNU Exhibitions, the organiser of a number of consumer pet fairs as well as Pet Fair Asia (19-23 August, Shanghai), told PET worldwide: "There are no plans so far to change our trade shows. We have also received very few enquiries so far from exhibitors who want to cancel the fair. New bookings continue to be received for exhibition areas. We will keep an eye on how the situation develops and make decisions accordingly."
