Established in 1994 by Vaclav Fouček and František Bouška  and based in Rudna u Prahy, Vafo Praha has specialised primarily in high-grade food from the outset. The company employs 140 staff and is certified as complying with both ISO 9001 and HACCP.
The company is acquiring growing significance in the European pet supplies trade with its products. Vafo Praha is already represented in most countries in Europe. Apart from its own domestic market, the Czech pet food manufacturer counts France, Germany, Italy, Poland, Finland and Lithuania among its key markets. The company is gaining a greater foothold outside the continent of Europe, too, and is already represented in Malaysia, India, Syria and Trinidad. This brings the number of countries in which Vafo Praha's products are distributed to 55.

International trade fairs like Interzoo (Germany), Zoomark (Italy), Zoosphere (Russia), CIPS (China) and Anido (Belgium) are a focal point of Vafo Praha's marketing activities. In the Czech Republic, Vafo sponsors international dog and cat shows as well as supporting a variety of interesting canine activities: dog sports, training and sport cynology, etc. Another aspect of its sponsoring activities relates to a training centre for assistance dogs and the Czech-based therapy dog organisation Aura Canis.
