Zooplus AG continued to grow in the first six months of 2017 and achieved sales revenue of more than 500 mio euros in the first half of the year for the first time.
Revenue increased during this period by 21 per cent to 517 mio euros, slightly below the company's own expectations, according to board chairman Dr Cornelius Patt. In the first half of 2016 the sales revenue amounted to 428 mio euros. Double-digit growth rates were achieved once again in all 30 country markets.
In the second quarter, revenue increased by 18 per cent compared with the same period in the previous year. This is attributable to an even stronger focus on new customer business, according to Zooplus. In the core customer business, sales-related repeat purchases remain at 94 per cent.
Taking the business development in the first half of the year and the current estimate of the trend in sales revenue into account, the board of Zooplus AG confirms the forecast for the year as a whole with sales revenue of at least 1.125 mio euros.
