According to the provisional closing report, around 39 000 trade visitors from over 125 countries visited Interzoo between 8 and 11 May. This roughly matches the attendance in 2016 when the number of visitors was likewise 39 000. However, there was a marked increase in the number of exhibitors, which rose by 9 per cent compared with 2016. This year a total of 1 989 suppliers from 66 countries presented their innovations and trends on a gross exhibition area of more than 120 000 square metres.
"International participation also reached a new high with foreign companies accounting for 83% of the exhibitors. What was particularly striking was that the presentations of suppliers from all corners of the globe were of an extremely high standard," said Hans-Jochen Büngener, chairman of the Interzoo fair committee.
Of the visitors, 74 per cent (2016: 70 per cent) came from abroad, mainly from Italy, Spain, France, Great Britain, the Netherlands, the Czech Republic, China and Poland.
"Interzoo was this an outstanding platform once again this year for professional business relations at home and abroad and for the introduction of new products," added Hans-Jochen Büngener. The next Interzoo will be staged once again in Nuremberg from Tuesday 19 May to Friday 22 May 2020.
