Provincial administration endeavours to stop sale of pets

 ASAC and AEDPAC
The placement of dogs and cats is a focal point of the pet supplies trade in Spain.

The provincial administration of Madrid has drawn a hostile reaction from the Spanish pet supplies trade with a draft bill to prohibit or severely restrict the sale of live animals in pet stores. The trade and industry associations ASAC and AEDPAC have mobilised and have succeeded in preventing the bill from being passed initially for six months.
Responsible officers from the associations are currently working closely with the city's administration to modify the contents of the bill accordingly, according to AEDPAC president Lluc Ferrer when he spoke to PET worldwide.
