Plaček Group expands strongly

The Czechia-based Plaček Group is continuing its strategy of acquisitions and expansion. At the beginning of April, the Czech pet store chain Akvazoo joined the Plaček Group. Akvazoo is the 4th biggest chain of pet stores in Czechia with 15 stores, and the Plaček Group has become the minority shareholder with the option to buy the rest of the shares. This acquisition brings more synergies for both parties and more market share for the Plaček Group on the Czech market.
This year the Plaček Group has experienced the biggest expansion in the history of the company.  During 2017 more than 25 stores will be opened in Czechia, Slovakia, Poland and Latvia. The group is also planning to expand its retail operations to a further country.
On 26 April the company opened a flagship megastore, Dino Zoo, in Riga/Latvia. This store covers 3 000m2 and is the largest pet shop in eastern and central Europe. Part of this complex is an exhibition hall, the Dino Zoo Arena, vet pharmacy, boutique and grooming area. In two months a veterinary clinic will also be opened.  The store has the widest range of products and livestock in Latvia, including tropical fish, exotic birds, small animals and terrarium animals.
