PetSmart expands further

Petsmart is continuing to expand.

PetSmart has added another location to its grooming store concept with the opening of The Groomery by PetSmart in Scottsdale, Arizona. The new store concept focuses exclusively on pet care.
The new store in Scottsdale is the first standalone grooming salon in the company's home city and the third in this format. The first two salons, which opened in October, are in New York City's Upper West Side and Oak Park, Illinois, a suburb of Chicago.
PetSmart has introduced The Groomery to take account of the fact that spending on pet grooming is rising. According to the American Pet Products Association, Americans spent nearly 5.8 bn dollars on pet services in 2016. It is a segment that is growing faster than any other.
In the third quarter of 2017 PetSmart also opened a total of 28 pet stores in the USA and Canada.
