Pets at Home Group looks back on successful 12-week period

The Pets at Home Group has announced a scheduled trading update. It reflects the 12-week period from 14 October 2016 to 5 January 2017, as compared with the 12-week period from 9 October to 31 December 2015.
The financial summary says that the group revenue shows growth of 4.4 per cent to £ 203.7 m. Merchandise revenue was flat at £177.4m. Services revenue was up 47.8 per cent to £26.3m, reflecting joint venture vet practice fee income up by 26.2% to £9.5m and the contribution from newly acquired specialist referral centres.
The store and services rollout is on track, with the company having opened 2 superstores, 6 veterinary practices and 11 grooming salons. It is on target to deliver FY17 rollout targets: 15-20 superstores, 45-55 veterinary practices and 50-60 grooming salons
Pets at Home operates 429 superstores located across the UK. The group operates the UK's largest small animal veterinary business with 411 practices and is the UK's leading operator of pet grooming services offered through its 269 grooming salons. The group also operates 7 specialist high street canine product stores called Barkers.
