Following the departure of several top staff, the aquatics company Eheim has carried out fundamental restructuring of the organisation. Distribution has been reorganised and the company now intends to concentrate on decentralised, regional customer service. The Europe Region will now be looked after by Sascha Rösner and South America by Jan-Christoph Struck, who has worked in distribution at Eheim for a number of years. Hidenari Morohashi will retain responsibility for Asia, while North America will continue to be the responsibility of Daniel Stopnicki.
The logistics function has likewise been restructured. Purchasing is currently being managed by Ralf Oberle, the long-standing buyer for Eheim. The production brief falls to Thomas Hermann together with managing director Gebhard Wagenblast. Thomas Hermann was previously involved in production planning and control. Shipping logistics are now the responsibility of Klaus Uhlmann, another Eheim employee of many years' standing.
Eheim points out that it has deliberately opted for staff members with a long tenure in making the new appointments. The company views the new structure as an important step in restoring its delivery capability to the normal level of 95 to 99 per cent.
