UK pet food manufacturer Lily’s Kitchen was a founding member of B Corp certification (Benefit Corporation) in 2006 and became the first pet food brand to become B Corp certified in 2015. “In March, the B-Corp certified companies worldwide will jointly celebrate their endeavours and successes for society and for environmental sustainability,” reports the company. At the last audit in 2022, Lily’s Kitchen scored 92.3 Impact Points. The median value of all companies audited is currently 50.9 points.

Each year, Lily’s Kitchen donates at least 50 000 meals to cats and dogs in need. In addition, every employee of Lily’s Kitchen can utilise four days of paid employment to volunteer. Another of the goals of Lily’s Kitchen is to make all of its packaging fully recyclable by 2025.

B Corp certification is awarded by the non-profit organisation B Lab. Companies receiving this certification use their financial power in a unique way to find solutions to social and environmental problems. To become certified as a B Corp, companies must achieve an Impact Score of at least 80 points.
